Alan was born in Trail, B.C. in 1947 and now resides in Qualicum Beach. Alan is primarily an acrylic painter, adapting from memory or collected and personal reference onto canvas and wood panel.
Trained and schooled as a photographic technician, he worked in the advertising field before broader life interests led him to other endeavours, eventually returning to design as a vocation. A life time of drawing and sketching gradually morphed into the acrylic medium. Alan is largely self taught, has attended occasional workshops/courses, and is encouraged to "paint on" by the members of his painting group.
