Ann Holtby Jones

Ann has established herself as an accomplished artist and instructor.

Ann was born in Gull Lake, Sask. and grew up in various communities across the prairies, eventually settling in the Kootenays, where she resides and paints from her studio in Cranbrook, B.C.

Inspired by everything around her, Ann has painted it all from the rugged mountains, rivers and lakes to the Fort Steele Clydesdales and local mules and horses.  Her richly coloured paintings tell it all.

Ann spent some time in the Muskwa Kechika Wilderness located in the heart of British Columbia's northern rockies and one of the few remaining places in the entire world where a fully functioning ecosystem lives and breathes as it always has.  Much of her work is now dedicated to "saving the wild".

Ann is an active member of the Federation of Canadian artists and  member of the West Kootenay chapter of the FCA.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"I see little around me that I don't want to paint for there is beauty and intrigue in everything, whether it be a colour, a shape, or subject matter.
As I strive for improvement I also try and bring an awareness to the beauty and delicate balance of the threatened ecosystem surrounding us.
I am forever grateful to those who have supported my work over the years".
