Robert Corfield was born in England and came to Canada at the age of eight growing up in the Toronto and Lake Simcoe areas. He learned to draw and paint from his father who was a painter and older brother a commercial artist. He learned to love the outdoors and sketch landscapes and wildlife. In the early 1970s’ when he moved to Ottawa with his family, they bought a new house, which needed paintings for the bare white walls. He quickly became known for his landscape and colourful abstract oil paintings. Over the past 30 years off and on Bob has been painting and sketching and now lives in Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island.
Bob really got into acrylics after taking workshops by renowned artists Michael and Nancy O’Tool and continues to explore different techniques and mediums. His work has been exhibited and well received by his peers and the general art collecting public across Canada and the U.S.
